Energy windows and doors, plank doors with planed caps.

P+P architects have carried out this exclusive renovation project, for which we have been privileged to supply doors and windows.

From the start of the project, we were involved in the execution of the windows and doors and were given the opportunity to give our input.

We have delivered windows and doors made of European oak, plank doors with oak veneer inside, internal doors in black-painted pine and with painted mahogany planks.

In addition, we have supplied interior bay windows adapted to the old wall holes with varying arrow heights for the stable side, which has been converted into a party room.

The architect has chosen Skodsborg brass handles for the windows and patio doors, for the main doors there is a choice of Arne Jacobsen brass facade door handles and fittings.

One of those types of collaborations we value a lot, as it really involves our knowledge of materials and production.

The old watermill near Dråby on Djursland is a historic mill farm on the Kattegat. The farm’s boulders have fallen into disrepair, and the farmhouse from the 18th century could not be saved. The new owners will recreate the place as a meeting place for events with the dissemination of nature, agriculture and crafts.

The farmhouse has been replaced by a new farmhouse of 250 m2, which functions as a single-family residence and with a separate guest/holiday home. Craftsmanship and materials of the best quality are used: external and internal walls with foundation masonry with a new interpretation of traditional masonry details, internal timber constructions in solid solid oak and a roof in natural slate.

The stable sides have been renovated with an eye for the authentic expression of the houses. Field barns, cow and horse stables have retained their identity and can function as spaces for work, learning and gatherings.

You can see much more about how P+P architects work with cultural heritage on their website: www.pplusp.dk/kulturarv and read more about the windmill on their website here.

HUJ A/S has been the executing contractor on the project.

We are happy to help with suggestions and designing possible solutions, both in terms of materials and function, when you have to plan your next project.
